Keep a written or electronic record of students' assignments and when they were completed.
Contact students collectively during the first week of each assignment cycle to remind them to begin thinking about their entry for the next outcome area. Meet with each student, individually or in small groups, for 15-30 minutes for each assignment. In this meeting, each student's progress will be reviewed privately, and guidelines and ideas for the coming assignment will be reviewed.
Maintain regular email contact with all portfolio students.
Refer students with writing problems to the Writing Resource Center for help if needed.
Maintain a portfolio of the experience of PLAing the student portfolio project, consisting of periodic reflective entries, physical evidence, and journal or log entries as appropriate.
Develop a system for Web mounting of student portfolios, starting with creating a Web-based template for portfolio submissions, with the goal of having the portfolios of the students who wish to do so mounted on the Web by the end of this academic year.
