Printing and Saving the Applet Window
Method 1: Screen Capture
This method uses screen capture to obtain a copy of what you see in
the applet window. Here is how it works for Windows XP and Windows 2000:
- Select the window containing the graph.
- Press the ALT key followed by the PrintScreen key.
- Open Paint (or another picture editor) and paste in the
image. Paint is found under Start: Programs: Accessories:
- If you are happy with the image you obtain, save in the the
format you want (or print it). Otherwise, use the picture
editing tools to select only the parts you want before saving or
printing.
Method 2: From the Window Menu
Printing
Just click on
File:Print, and in the resulting window make sure Print
to: Printer is checked and that you have the correct printer
command.
Saving
You can also save the contents of the applet window to a file. This is
useful if you want to incorporate the contents of the applet window
directly into a document. The present version of the software cannot
save to a useful file when running on a Windows platform. However, in
Unix, it can save to a postscript file. Postscript is useful for
direct inclusion into TeX or LaTeX documents. It can also be converted to
other formats, such as gif or jpg, which can be incorporated into Word
documents. The program xv, for example, can do such conversions.
To save the contents of the applet window to a file in Unix, click on
File:Print, and in the resulting window make sure Print
to: File is checked and that you specify the name of the target file
(including the path if in a different directory from the one in which
you started the browser).
