Tests

There will be two open book, open note tests, based on the chapters you have completed. These are individual (not group) exams and involve problem solving, statistical reasoning and the analysis of data. The first test will cover Chapters 1-3, will count 300 points, and will be one hour in length; the second will cover Chapters 4, 5 and 7, will count 600 points, and will be two hours in length. The purposes of tests in this course are:

• To obtain an individual measure of your understanding of statistical ideas.
• To obtain an individual measure of your ability to apply statistics.
• To provide an incentive for you to learn the material.
